Pinned messages

A pinned message is one you’ve stuck to the top of a chat so it’s always within reach. Instead of asking people to scroll back through weeks of history to find that one important link or decision, you pin it once and it stays put.

  1. Open a message’s action menu (the button).
  2. Choose Pin message.

The message is now flagged as pinned for everyone in the chat.

Each chat shows how many messages are pinned and gives you a quick way to view the full list — no scrolling required. When a pinned message is no longer relevant, open its menu again and unpin it to keep the list tidy.

Pins are most useful for the things people ask about again and again:

  • Decisions — “We’re going with option B; here’s why.”
  • Key links — the project brief, the shared folder, the meeting room.
  • Norms — how this channel works, where to post what.
  • Status — the current sprint goal, the on-call rotation, the launch date.
