Notifications
Notifications are how BridgeApp taps you on the shoulder when something needs you — a mention, a reply, a task assigned to you, an incoming call. They’re designed to tell you what matters and stay quiet about what doesn’t, so your attention is respected.
What triggers a notification
Section titled “What triggers a notification”You’ll be notified about things that involve you or things you’ve chosen to follow:
- Mentions — someone @mentions you in a message, comment, page, or task.
- Replies in threads you watch — new replies in a thread you’re following.
- Direct messages — a new DM.
- Task activity — a task is assigned to you, changes status, gets a due date, or receives a comment.
- Workspace changes — role changes, invites, and similar account events.
- Calls — an incoming or missed call.
Where notifications show up
Section titled “Where notifications show up”| Place | Good for |
|---|---|
| The bell in the app | Catching up in one place while you work. |
| Push (desktop & mobile) | Time-sensitive things when you’re away from the app. |
| Important items you don’t want to miss. |
Watching things you care about
Section titled “Watching things you care about”Beyond the things that involve you directly, you can watch (sometimes shown as “watching”) a specific task or chat to get notified about its activity. It’s like subscribing — perfect for a project you’re not assigned to but want to keep an eye on. Stop watching anytime to go quiet again.
Why you won’t get buried
Section titled “Why you won’t get buried”BridgeApp deliberately keeps the noise down:
- De-duplication — a flurry of messages from the same person won’t fire a dozen separate pings.
- Trimming — long notifications are shortened to a readable preview, with small cues (like a paperclip for an attachment or a phone for a call).
